Designed by NYC based Selldorf Architects, 606 N Western becomes David Zwirner’s eighth gallery joining multiple locations in NYC, London, Paris and Hong Kong. The Los Angeles flagship is an expansive 14,000 SF over three stories housing six exhibition and viewing rooms, private offices, two kitchen commissaries and a rooftop entertaining area. The project includes a three stop elevator and a grand 12' tall mahogany and low iron glass storefront entrance including a nearly 2 ton engineered sliding door capable of allowing large scale art installations be loaded into the gallery.
Besides three walls left standing from the original structure to maintain favorable street set backs, 606 Western was a ground up project that has forever transformed the rapidly changing Melrose Hill district.
